In recent times, Team India has performed admirably in limited overs cricket. The team has indeed been in fantastic shape. This is not India’s first World Cup appearance in the T20 format. The Indian team won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 and were crowned winners. The team also had a historical moment in the same year when Yuvraj Singh hit 6 sixes in a row. Both internationally and domestically, the squad has had a great run in recent years. The Indian team has many of the leading players of the game. Let’s have a detailed look at the team players.

The Indian Bowling Unit for the World Cup T20

Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel will make up India’s World T20 bowling unit. Hardik Pandya will also bowl.

As far as the death bowling is concerned, the fast bowlers will be Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Mohammed Shami, with Hardik Pandya assisting them.

The Indian Batting Unit for the World Cup T20

The Indian batting unit for the World T20 is very strong. The team boasts of big-hitters such as Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ajinkya Rahane and several more.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul will likely open the innings for India, with Virat Kohli batting at number three. Suryakumar Yadav will bat at number four, followed by Rishabh Pant at number five, Hardik Pandya at number six, and Ravindra Jadeja at number seven.

Weakness

India is a cricketing powerhouse and has the strongest team in the competition. However, there are some weaknesses and strengths that stand out with this squad.

The concern lies with the death bowling unit. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has not been in his best form lately. His only strength is wickets with the new balls and he’s good with swinging the ball both ways. On the other hand, with an economy rate of 8.90, Mohammad Shami is yet to establish himself as a T20I bowler.

But India’s main weakness is that they do not have left-armers in the team. They have a considerable disadvantage against teams like England and the West Indies, who have a history of using left-handers to take on India. India also has a shortage of all-rounders, a vital component of a T20 team.

Strengths

The biggest strength of Team India is the availability of brilliant batsmen like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Rishab Pant etc. On their day, they’re all experienced match-winners who can win games in any situation. Players like Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, and Ravindra Jadeja can be employed as floaters depending on the match situation, giving the batting unit a lot of versatility. Ishan Kishan, the second wicket-keeper, can bat as an opener or in the middle of the order.

All of the batsmen are capable of bowling both spin and pace. From the initial ball, each player can assault. Overall, India has a near-perfect batting unit to compete in the ICC T20 World Cup.
